If only I had a dollar (or fabulous new pair of shoes) for every time I’ve heard the phrase “I thought a stylist was only for rich people or celebs.” Or even, “I’m the last person anyone would ever think would work with a stylist!” Perhaps you’ve thought the exact same thing?
I completely understand why you would, as that’s what we see all over the media and during the extravagant awards shows. When I first had interest in the world of styling, I too thought the only way to step in would be to intern with a celeb stylist. And to be honest, deep down I didn’t think I was good enough to play in that space. Who was I to mingle with celebs and the super rich? Isn’t it funny how our subconscious tries to keep us small and safe?!
So if you’ve had those thoughts of not feeling “rich enough” or “important enough” to work with a stylist, I completely understand! There’s a worthiness conversation running wild in your subconscious, and we’ll dive deeper into that next month.
What opened me up to the idea that styling is not just for celebs and the rich is when I started making the deeper connection between what you put on your body and what starts showing up in your world. There’s a connection between your inner essence and your outer expression, and your style represents how you feel and what you think about yourself.
So if you throw on something that doesn’t really fit or feels super boring or is stained, what are you really saying about yourself? Are you allowing yourself to be seen for who you really are? And if not, how is this holding you back?
Now imagine for a moment, that you ‘feel’ a certain level of confidence and certainty because you KNOW how to present your authentic style… not someone else’s. Now imagine being able to use your authentic style merged with your inner essence of love to become magnetic for opportunities and relationships.
How would that change your life?
This is the power of style and importance of working with a professional stylist! Your confidence, and thus your money, are impacted when you are not expressing your authentic style. There’s a disconnect, and you are actually blocking prosperity. You are allowing your limiting beliefs to win instead of stepping into the life you know you deserve.
The fastest way to level up is through style. When you believe enough in yourself to start showing up as that version of you that you are stepping into, it will come to fruition faster. Essentially you are saying to yourself and the Universe, “I’ve got this. I am becoming this version of me. I am creating this life I envision so let me start living it right now.” You don’t need to wait UNTIL you have your dream life to start dressing the part. It actually works in reverse.
Dress for who you are becoming.
